* Junior Team USA Program

posted Feb 20, 2013, 9:51 PM by Iko Bullington
Dear Federation Presidents and Senseis:

It is with great excitement that AUSKF announces the creation of the AUSKF Junior Team USA Program.
This program will consist of training camps (gasshukus) that will bring together AUSKF kenshi between 15-21 years of age from all over the United States.
Instruction will be provided by current and former members of the U.S. National Kendo Team, and it will be a great opportunity for younger kenshi to improve their kendo while bonding with fellow kenshi from other regions.
In order to fully benefit from this program, participating kenshi should be competitive in their local region and be capable of participating in a full two-day training camp.

The first Junior Team USA Training Camp will be held on April 27-28, 2013.  Participants must arrive in Los Angeles, California by Friday night, April 26th
A stipend of $500 will be provided to each federation outside the hosting region that sends at least one kenshi to participate (to be used to assist kenshi(s) in costs to attend).
The participation fee per kenshi will be $50.  We are currently limiting this program to male kenshi, but will incorporate female kenshi if we can stimulate enough interest in the program.

We have attached the relevant documentation for the Program.
All participating kenshi must be recommended/approved by the local federation.
Please send one application per federation no later than April 1, 2013 to our attention at the following email address:
teamusakendo@gmail.com
After April 1st, We will reach out to the individual participants to complete the individual Participant Information and Waiver Forms.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and participation.  We look forward to working with you to create opportunities for the next generation of AUSKF kenshi.

Respectfully,
AUSKF Junior Team USA Program
